Our Review

The Makita UC3551A/2 Electric Chainsaw is a well designed, powerful and lightweight tool. It has a 35cm bar length and a fast cutting speed (chain speed) of 14.5 metres per second. It is mains powered and features a 2000W motor which smoothly starts up. We particularly like the metal spike bumper which grips on to what you're cutting and therefore provides a means of cutting more accurately.

One feature which is especially convenient is the chainsaw's automatic chain lubrication. It takes care of part of the maintenance for you and lets you work continuously without stopping for manual intervention. We like the fact that the chain can be tensioned without the use of tools, making switching chains very easy indeed. In terms of safety, the chainsaw has an electric chain brake and a kickback brake.
